My smart playlist (revisited #2)

I’ve been tweaking my smart playlists some more (see here – and here) and the configuration that has emerged from these tweaks makes a really varied radio station.

  • Match all of the following conditions:
  • Last Played is not in the last 3 days
  • My rating is greater than [one star]
  • Limit to 20 songs selected by random

Then select the Shuffle and Repeat All modes and hit Play. Limiting to 20 songs makes it easy to see what’s ahead in the queue. 20 songs represent about 1 to 1.5 hours. With Shuffle, it isn’t very likely that two songs by the same artist are being played after one another (which I don’t like). And, again, the “Last Played is not in the last 3 days” ensures that songs aren’t played too often.

The above was posted to my personal weblog on August 20, 2002. My name is Peter Lindberg and I am a thirtysomething software developer and dad living in Stockholm, Sweden. Here, you’ll find posts in English and Swedish about whatever happens to interest me for the moment.
