NetNewsWire

Malte told me about NetNewsWire so I downloaded it. I must admit I had the preconception that RSS aggregators as an idea is excellent, but that there are none that I could live with. Free apps in general, and the UI of free apps in general, always disappoint me, so I’ve never even looked what the “market” offered.

But! NetNewsWire does pass my high standards! I was going to whine about not being able to view the news for all my subscriptions, only to find that it was a preference that was turned off by default. Now, the only bad thing I can say about it is that 30 minutes is far too long an interval to poll for news. Five minutes is what I want! Great app!

The above was posted to my personal weblog on August 7, 2002. My name is Peter Lindberg and I am a thirtysomething software developer and dad living in Stockholm, Sweden. Here, you’ll find posts in English and Swedish about whatever happens to interest me for the moment.
