Laziness is the mother of invention

Reading yesterday’s DN.Insidan, they reviewed the book The Importance of Being Idle by Stephen Robins, which apparently contains a lot of quotes speaking in favor of being lazy now and then. I like this Agatha Christie quote they picked from the book:

I don’t think necessity is the mother of invention – invention, in my opinion, arises directly from idleness, possibly also from laziness. To save oneself trouble. (From The Quotations Page.)

The above was posted to my personal weblog on June 30, 2002. My name is Peter Lindberg and I am a thirtysomething software developer and dad living in Stockholm, Sweden. Here, you’ll find posts in English and Swedish about whatever happens to interest me for the moment.
